Message from Father Conrad Edwards
Vocations Director, Diocese of Antigonish

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Welcome to our Diocesan Vocations Webpage!

A vocation to priesthood or any other call in our Church today is in reality a call to conversion. God initiates in love and we respond in love to a God who has constantly loved us and continues to do so this very day. With each call and initiative may come some fear and anxiety. There is no need to be afraid! Our God recognizes that we not only have a past, but also a future. Reflect for a moment on the life of St. Peter; the person who denied that he knew Jesus was the very one chosen to lead the apostles.

Since we desire to do what is right and want to be faithful, prayer and discernment are imperative. Please know that there are people who can assist you in this process. If you are thinking about priesthood and/or consecrated life in our Church, then please speak to someone about this spiritual journey. There are many people willing and able to assist. I am prepared to be of support. By getting in touch with me, you're not making any commitment - all you're saying is that you want to know more. And that's where any real journey begins. We might correspond. We might meet face to face and have a chat. Perhaps I can direct you to someone who might be able more appropriately to answer your questions, as in the case of religious communities of either women or men.

For those of you who want to pray for and encourage vocations within the Diocese of Antigonish, I ask you to participate in our Diocesan Vocation Prayer Partners Project. The Prayer Partner Card can also be found at:Vocation Partner Prayer Card

Thank you for your caring and for your prayers.

Your brother in Christ,

Fr. Conrad
